BRIC fashion designers to participate in the 2018 SA Fashion Week

Brazil, Russia, India and China fashion designers will be participating in the 2018 South Africa Fashion week (SAFW). Celebrating 21 years of fashion, the autumn and winter Fashion Week will take place at Sandton City from 23-27 October.  Up and coming designers, BRIC designers and South African famous designers will be showcasing their collections.

Here are some of South African designers  who will be showcasing:

Inga Atelier

Inga Atelier is a contemporary lifestyle brand founded by Inga Gubeka. “This luxury brand has been making waves locally and internationally, will make its debut on SAFW runway, showing backpacks, clutches, totes and laptop bags,” reports IOL.  

Kumkani Bespoke

Founded by Sandile Mlambo, self taught designer and winner of the 2018 Fashion Weeks MINI Scouting Menswear Competition.  

Virtue SA

Virtue SA is a streetwear brand founded by Zanhri Gertse. The brand produces gender-neutral clothes. The founder graduated from the Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion.

Shaazia Adam

Mozambican/South African designer who launched her brand the Militar Club and showcased at the Mozambican Fashion Week, at age 16. She specialises in delicate couture pieces.

Hse of Bespoke

Founded by Waseefa Hutton the Hse of Bespoke “embraces simple beauty via artistic expression for women of all ethnicities” says IOL.


Founded by Durban University of Technology Graduates, Ngcebo Mnyandu and Siyabonga Ntini. The Outerwear brand is looking to celebrate feminine bodies in the arts, politics and other spheres.
