Russia has initiated a program to build on its support of renewable energy until 2024. This with the hope that it will assist in encourage engineering companies to launch equipment and export internationally.
Russia is focusing on solar panels and wind-electric power stations to export; these products are in high demand at the moment internationally and will be a key industry of the future.
Ever since Russia established its first solar power plant in 2014, the country has moving fast to develop its solar energy capabilities. Today there are 12 solar power plants each with a capacity of 1-40 MW.
In total the capacity of the solar plants reaches 150 MW, by 2022 Russian solar panels producer, Hevel is expected to have opened a 1GW capacity solar power plant.
