Russia will from the 11-13 September host the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The Eastern Economic Forum was formed for growing foreign investment opportunities between Russia and the Asian Pacific countries.

The forum is aimed at strengthening relations in the investment community, Russian-Asian Pacific business and government institutions. Other goals of the meet include creating a space for openness and competition and showcasing new business ideas and opportunities.

The forum will bring together political and business leaders from Russia and The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). One key country attending the meeting is Japan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are expected to meet on the eve of the forum for bilateral talk, says tass.com. The Russia-Japan talks are expected to revolve around economic trade between the two countries, build more trust and cooperation, the World War II peace treaty as well as the US-Korea summit that took place in June.
