Preview of the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup

The ICC 2019 Males Cricket World Cup starts tomorrow with the opening game between South Africa and co-host England at the Oval. South Africa’s Proteas will once again be looking to shake off the chocker’s label by making a great showing and winning the tournament.

The Proteas coach Ottis Gibson, Barbadian who lived in England for almost 20 Years where he played for Durham, Glamorgan and Leicestershire in English country cricket, his experience with English cricket could be the difference maker and be beneficial for the proteas.

In terms of ICC Rankings South Africa is 8th while England is ranked 4th, England is also one of the tournament’s favourites due to them co-hosting. Australia 2nd and India 5th are also expected to make a strong showing being previous world champions.

The Proteas will have to really bring the fire and show the form that made them the most consistent ODI team in the world for two years in a row, and also being ranked number 1 in the test format. The Match between the Proteas and England will started at 11:30.

India men and women’s cricket highlights

The Indian women cricket team beat Pakistan Yesterday in a T20 world cup match by 7 wickets.  India which is in the same group as Australia, Pakistan, Ireland and New Zealand are now in 2nd position of group B. They have two more games left against Ireland and Australia before they can qualify for the semi-finals.

The men cricket team defeated the West Indies to claim their 3rd straight victory in a T20 3 match series, according to   The  white wash Shikhar Dhawan (92) and Rishabh Pant (58) starred to complete out class the West Indies.  Next the Indian team will face Australia in another 3 match T20 series 21-25 November.

India is 2018’s most successful ODI team

India has won its five match series with the West Indies, this win took India’s win rate to 75% wins in ODI test, with win establishes the Indian cricket team is the best team throughout the year.

India has won 14 of their 20 matches with the next best team,England, who has won 17 out of 24 matches, resulting in a win rate of 73% for England. India’s first victory of the year came by defeating South Africa in February.

India then went on to win the Asia cup by defeating Bangladesh, and winning against regional rivals Pakistan.  The Indian cricket has shown throughout the year strong level of invulnerability, winning most of their match with relative ease.

May 2019 will see the cricket world cup take place in England and Wales, India are looking as the clear favourites to clinch the cup.
